Facing Your Anxiety

Really the only way to over come your anxiety is you look it right in the face and tell it who's boss.It won't be pretty but it truly is the best way.

Key things to remember:

1.The discomfort you feel is really only anxiety, not danger.

2.If your anxiety is all the way up; keep going, it can't stay that way. Think of your anxiety as a hill you have to go all the way to the top to get over it.

3. Your the boss of your body. Don't let your anxiety tell you what to do. It's your brain and your body take charge.

4. Your compulsions will only bring you temporary relief. No matter how much you think "If I could just do this one compulsion everything would be fine." it's not true and you know that, the anxiety well come back around.

5. You can do those extra steps.I know when your anxiety to coming at you with all it's got,it's hard to deal with, but you can beat it. You can overcome it. You can do it.

Not Just Everyday Stress

So when dealing with OCD I find that you can very much deal with things just fine on a daily basis. depending on where you are in the stages of OCD. When it comes to dealing with a higher stress situation I find that OCD can act up more. Which means not only are you worrying about the things that would be stressful to any one, all the OCD stress starts rolling in and it makes it much harder to deal with. Dose anyone find this happening to then in they're stressful situations? Or is it the other way around for you? Where I have also found that some times I'm so stressed all the time that when some thing happens that would be stressful I have a better way of dealing with it because it is just the norm.

the basics of OCD

Some of the most common things someone with OCD would do are things that every one does on a regular basis, such as washing hands, checking locks and the checking alarm clock. The thing is that with OCD you feel as tho you have to do it or something awful will happen. Most people have the ability to push things to the back of there mind and not worry about it. people with OCD do not have that pleasure, our minds are always thinking about everything at ones.
